Gingerbread Man Recipe!
- 2-2 1/2 cups plain PAMS flour
- 1/2 tsp PAMS baking soda
- 1 Tbsp PAMS’s Ground Ginger
- 1 cup (220g) firmly packed PAMS Soft Brown Sugar
- 150g butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup PAMS Icing Sugar
- Food colouring & lollies to decorate
1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
2. Sift flour, baking soda and ginger together and place in a bowl or food processor. Add PAMS Soft Brown Sugar
3. Add butter and rub in with fingertips or pulse in food processor until resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add egg and stir or pulse to mix. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour to the mix and wrap in cling wrap. Refrigerate for half an hour.
4. Roll out on lightly floured surface or between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Using cookie cutters, cut shapes and place on tray. Form leftover dough into a ball and re-roll and repeat cutting out until all the dough is used up.
5. Bake gingerbread men for 8-10 minutes or until cooked and golden. Remove from oven and cool on baking rack.
6. Make icing by adding a few drops of food colouring and 11⁄2 tsp water to the icing sugar. Drop a small amount under each spot where you wish to place a lolly.
EAT AND ENJOY!

HUMP DAY 28TH JULY
Burger King Onion Rings
Here is the recipe for the delicious golden rings from the worlds 2nd largest Fast Food Chain.
You will need:
- 6 to 10 Cups Vegetable Shortening (or Vegetable Oil)
- 1 Medium White Onion
- 2 Cups Milk
- 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Cups Plain Bread Crumbs
- Salt
Method:
1. In a fryer, heat up 6 to 10 cups of vegetable shortening or oil to 180 Degrees Celsius
2. Cut onion into 10mm thick slices, then separate the slices into rings.
3. Pour the milk into a large shallow bowl, dump flour into another large shallow bowl, and pour bread crumbs into a third large shallow bowl. The large bowls will make things easy, we like easy!
4. While the shortening is heating up, bread all the onion rings: First dip an onion ring into the milk, then into the flour. Dip it back into the milk, then into the bread crumbs, and once more into the milk and into the bread crumbs.
5. When the oil is hot, fry the rings, a handful at a time, in the oil for 1 and a half to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the rings from the oil to a rack or paper towels to drain. Lightly salt the onion rings and serve ‘em up hot.
Makes four to five dozen onion rings.
