Dominic Bowden

Dominic Bowden, is one of the most well known faces on New Zealand television in a career that spans almost 10 years. He began as the host of the cult early saturday morning kids show Squirt, before trying his hand at late night music television with Space and of course had phenomenal success as the host of the much loved NZ Idol.

In 2007 he travelled to LA for an interview with Ryan Seacrest. He was signed by his management team and a few months later landed the plum job as host of US reality TV series The Next Great American Band. He is now based in Los Angeles and covers all things entertainment from the flashing lights of Hollywood.

Mathias

Mathias is one talented guy! A music geek even. He can play guitar, drums, keyboard, bass, he tries to sing and gives anything else he can get his hands on a go. Along with Shannon, he plays in a band called Sunburn, in which he plays keyboard. He also has played guitar and drums in many other bands. His favourite bands are Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Weerd Science, Denali and Engine Down, to name a few. When not playing music, he is probably hooning around on his scooter!

He’s also the baby of the The Erin Simpson Show team!

Jon Franks – UK Reporter

Jon Franks was born (June 16, 1988) and raised in York, UK. At the age of 16, Jon left secondary school with a passion for television. From leaving school, he took his first step into the industry by joining a local television station, York TV. Jon presented much of its youth programming aired on the channel. In late 2006, Jon was discovered by MTV UK and asked to host its afternoon continuity zone, FYI. The show broadcasted from 3pm till 7pm weekdays on MTV One. During his time on FYI, Franks had the pleasure of interviewing big stars and personal heroes of his including Enrique, Maroon 5, The Fray, Hanson and many more. He is the only MTV UK presenter to have sung the chorus of “Hero” to Enrique Iglesias on camera. Since then Jon has gone on to present red carpet coverage for Myspace UK and currently covers weekly reports for CBBC’s Sportsround show, airing Saturday mornings on BBC2. In his spare time Jon loves to play sports and listen to music. He is a regular DJ in the UK and enjoys performing at different venues across the country.

Originally from Christchurch, Krista has been performing since the age of five. She graduated with a bachelor in music theatre from the national academy of singing and dramatic art NASDA, in 2005. since graduating krista has performed in the Christchurch stage productions of Oliver! beauty and the beast, cats and Melbourne’s production of A midsummer nights dream. Ruby is soooo cool! I can’t wait for you to hear her sing, she sounds amazing and she can play the guitar as well, Ruby is 21 and is from Auckland. She has just graduated with a Bachelor of Communications degree (majoring in Journalism), we have so many brainy acts on the team, I love it!

Ruby is a keen writer and loves to combine her passion of writing and music. You may have seen her on the stage of Parachute this year as she was one of the MC’s.

Isaac Ross

I don’t know about you guys but I have always wanted a friend who was a Super 14 Rugby player and now we do!!! Isaac Ross is 24 and he is currently getting stuck into this year’s Rebel Sport Super 14 Competition with the Crusaders.
When you get to know Isaac you will see that he’s not just rugby, rugby, rugby he loves all sports like touch and tennis but also he’s a passionate learner in Te Reo Maori and Kapahaka. I really want him to teach us the Haka this year, in fact if you guys ask him I reckon he defiantly will!

Fav sports star = Rodger Federa
Dream job = Peanut M&M taste tester
Worst injury = Tore Cartilage in my knee

Katy Thomas

You just need to take one look at Katy to see that she is really into her fashion, some girls just know what to wear and Katy is one of those girls!!! But fashion isn’t all she is into Katy likes her motocross in a big way!!! Not only that but Katy also loves netball, dragon boating, theatre sports, singing and Kapahaka!

Fav accessory = Rose gold bangle – it’s a heirloom that all the eldest daughters with my middle name “koa” get on my mothers side

Chang Hung

Our Chang is very multi-cultural he was born in Macau, China yet he grew up in Fiji and Sydney and now he has been living in NZ for the past 8 years. He started off working as the ‘crazy stunt guy’ on ‘The edge’ with Fletch and Vaughan but now he is producing ‘The Edge Morning Madhouse’ – get this he has to wake up at 3am every morning for work!

Fav movie = The Notebook
Best invention = Every girl’s best friend ‘GHD’S!!!!
Who he would love to be for a day = A big Hollywood movie star

Kimberley Crossman

Kimberley Crossman is currently working as an actress on everyone’s favourite local drama, Shortland Street, playing Sophie McKay. As well as presenting for The Erin Simpson Show! Although a lot of her time is spent filming and learning lines, she also has a lot of other hobbies, meaning her life is usually very busy, fast-paced and fun!Aside from acting, dancing is another one of Kimberley’s passions. With a ballet teacher for a mother, Kimberley has danced for most of her life and enjoys not only ballet, but jazz, hip-hop and contemporary as well. She is also a competitive cheerleader and trains with Total Cheerleading New Zealand. On top of all this she also loves playing indoor netball and is currently taking circus classes to try and master the art of the trapeze!

Kimberley grew up in Auckland and attended Diocesan School for Girls, where she was Deputy Head Girl and also the Captain of Arts and Dance. She has two dogs (Ralph and Rosie) and three cats (Charlotte, Oscar and Chloe). She loves spending time with friends and family, especially if it involves getting away over the summer. One of her favourite holiday spots is Pauanui. She is also a KidsCan, EA Games & Smokefree ambassador.

At the moment Kimberley is really enjoying her role on Shortland Street but she is also excited with what the future holds. Eventually she would love to break out and try some acting overseas, but right now she’s busy enough with all of her projects!
